Two days ago I visited the Salfit region, and went to the Wall at Mas’ha. There are various roadblocks in the region, and, on this occasion I witnessed the indignity of an old man, in pyjamas, being wheeled through the roadblock on a stretcher and then lifted into some form of transport, because the Red Crescent ambulance carrying him couldn’t pass the roadblock. It has been a while. Many things have been happening.
Firstly, Qalandiya checkpoint has been fortified. The watch towers have extra camouflage, there is more razor wire, the channels for pedestrians have been tightened, there are more soldiers, and to top it off there are now metal detectors.

This is just a quick update. The enforced walk at Surda checkpoint has been greatly reduced (although according to rumour is was supposed to be fully opened). Last night there was a curfew in Ramallah, but it only seemed to last a matter of minutes. Palblog had an okay day at work, but on the way home, there was an unpleasant surprise at Surda.
